Description

The Academic Advising Team provides support to all curriculum enrolled students including academic advising,
and navigating other college departments including Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, and the Business Office.

Purpose of
Position
: The Academic Advisor, OADS (Office of Accommodations and Disability Services) and TRIO will provide holistic support and
serves as the primary academic advisor for a specific caseload of students receiving academic accommodations college wide and/or in the TRIO
Program. This includes advising students on different career fields that fit their skills and interests, preparing for career or transfer,
following up on Early Alerts from faculty, aiding students in resolving SAP/FACA issues, helping students select and enroll in appropriate
courses, planning for future career and academic goals, and other tasks that will help students reach their academic goals while at the
college. This position works closely with faculty and staff to help develop and implement appropriate supports and recommendations for
students. Additionally, this position will perform other tasks and duties to support the advising team as a whole and the mission of
providing academic advising to all students. This position will report to the TRIO Director and work in collaboration with the Disability
Services Counselor.

Classified: Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is
$37,042.00-$50,400.00. Salary will commensurate with education and experience. This position is restricted with funding through August 31,
2025. The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state

    record of professionalism in providing customer service.
