Description:
Title: Academic Arts Center Manager
Unit: Non-Unit Professional (NUP)
Department: Administration
Reports to: Vice President of Administration

General Summary:
The Manager of the MCC’s Academic Arts Center
provides overall administrative coordination of the Center in consultation with the departments of Music and Performing Arts. The Manager
also provides leadership on administrative and financial matters including budgeting, contract negotiation, ticketing and management of
Center staff and student employees. Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and working closely with the Dean of Liberal Arts, the
manager is expected to maintain and develop collaborative working relationships with a variety of departments and individuals across the
college, the Merrimack Valley Region and the industry in an effort to increase awareness and smooth operations of the Academic Performing
Arts Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with faculty and students use of facility to
support curriculum and student activities - Maintain schedule of events and academic activities
- Create systems and procedures
for managing facility in support of academic activities, facility rentals and community events - Supervise student and professional
crews - Assist with marketing Center-hosted events
- Coordinate with and supervise outside groups and individuals renting
facility - Negotiate contracts
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of budgets
- Coordinate box office operations for
programming - Coordinate with facilities regarding operations with the center
- Complete other related duties as
assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in one or more areas of the performing
arts - Minimum of five (5) years experience of primary responsibility for managing a performing arts facilities
- Familiar with
current booking practices within the industry - Experience with contracts, specifically related to artist contract
provisions - Proven team leader – provide a record of leadership, team development and motivational techniques
- Proven track
record for managing events of all types, sizes and complexity for a diverse clientele - Excellent and proven organizational, verbal,
written and interpersonal communication skills; comfort with social media; ability to effectively interact and collaborate with team
members, clients, college departments and personnel - Proficiency in computer applications, including ticket and theater management
software, graphics program, Microsoft Office Suite. Banner and Blackboard LMS experience preferred - Ability to work weekend,
holidays and/or evenings when needed. - Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities
such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and
varying physical and learning abilities.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,0000; actual salary
