LEAD Scholars Academy
UCF’s LEAD Scholars Academy is an academic and co-curricular leadership development program. These students are committed to academic excellence and making a difference in the world around them. Learning about leadership in the classroom is only meaningful when the knowledge is put to use. LEAD Scholars guide and inspire their peers in a variety of ways on campus. Our scholars make a difference in the UCF and Central Florida community with thousands of hours of community service each year.
The LEAD Scholars Academy U-LEAD initiative provides service-learning leadership programs and courses for upper-division and transfer students. U-LEAD is composed of multiple programs with specialized curricula to meet the various needs of students. Each program is composed of single-semester courses designed for upper division students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and an interest in service and leadership. Students may participate in one semester or up to four depending upon their interest and availability. The programs offer two courses each semester, based upon enrollment, that allow students to apply their leadership skills in service-learning opportunities.
The Opportunity:
The Academic Program Coordinator I for LEAD Scholars Academy is responsible for developing and delivering a quality and comprehensive leadership education program to the undergraduate student body. Through U-LEAD, this position implements various leadership tracks intended for transfer and third/fourth year students, among other specified student leader groups throughout campus.
Responsibilities:

Formulating a plan of action to market and promote the various leadership tracks.

Overseeing the Virtual Leadership Academy.

Mentoring Clinton Global Initiative University students.

Advising the Leadership Excellence Board recruiting efforts for the Academy.

Teaching academic credit leadership courses and assessment of leadership program outcome.

Assisting with the LEAD Scholars academic program workshops, activities, and initiatives.

Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will hold a master’s degree in Student Personnel, Counselor Education, Educational Leadership or related degree, and be qualified to instruct LDR courses.

Experience with leadership development programming.

Prior teaching experience at the college level (GTA or instructor of record).
