Description
Reporting to the Program
Director, the Academic Support Specialist will work closely with the program faculty and staff to provide support for all aspects of the
program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviews the content of and updates the program website and manages
social media platforms, makes improvements to databases. - Assures all instructor credentials are up-to-date; hires and oversees
student aides. - Assists with completing grant documents and execution of grant related activities.
- Takes electronic minutes
for various internal program meetings. - Coordinates classroom technical set up, and troubleshoots technology for all
lecturers. - Reviews, compiles, organizes, and distributes course and program related materials such as student schedules, assessment
materials, and group assignments. - Assists with student and faculty research projects and proctors student
examinations. - Contacts and organizes external instructional faculty for sessions such as laboratories, simulation labs, physical
examination labs, and procedural sessions. - Reserves rooms for program activities, and assures all laboratory materials and supplies
are available and set up for use. - Contacts, organizes, and is the primary liaison for all simulations, laboratory, and clinical
activities at simulation centers. - Assists with the compilation of student grades and facilitates communication of final grades to
students, faculty, and registrar. - Assists with assessment related activities such as assigning examinations, organizing the ordering
of examinations, entering examination questions into databases, re-organizing examination databases, collecting assignments, and following
up on missing materials. - Obtains, tracks, and maintains records of student submission of documents when initially entering the
program as well as when progressing through the program (I.E. HIPAA training, infection control, admission requirements, and clinical year
documents). - Works with faculty and staff to formulate accreditation documents.
- Assists with admission interviews and helps
with urgent student, faculty, staff, or adjunct needs. - Performs other related duties as
assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-5 years of related work
experience. - Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational
environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
suite. - Knowledge of Canvas LMS.
