About the Role: Job Summary Directs and coordinates administrative and clinical services of clinics and physician practices. Responsible for overseeing clinical operations in a group practice setting operates according to established standards. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: staffing, scheduling, clinical services, plant and equipment maintenance. Most importantly, this individual identifies operational problems and takes immediate and proactive measures to improve patient care and other issues that may affect efficient and effective operations. This individual will be responsible for the workflows and outcomes of the clinical staff to include the following positions: CMA, RMA, RN, RN Educator, RN Clinical Call Center, Credentialing, Medical Records, and other clinical positions as assigned. This individual will utilize lean principles to drive performance. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: Georgia RN License Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree. Education may be substituted for equivalent business experience. Minimum Experience: Five years of cardiology experience.

Strong skills in interpersonal communication – oral and written. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis. Updates staff on current policy and procedure issues for the efficient operation of the clinic.

Meets regularly with physicians and other employees to assure that operational and staffing issues are resolved. Schedules, assigns, and distributes duties to promote teamwork and efficiency keeping budgets within specified parameters. Flexes and reassigns staff within the area to achieve efficient operations within allocated staffing budget. Coordinates leave time for staff to assure adequate resources for patient care. Responds during crisis and manages clinic or works in staff position as necessary. Prepares reports for Vice President in a timely manner. As requested, prepares weekly reports for the Vice President in summary that include: daily volumes and variances from the norm; daily revenue; variances from authorized work hours and justification, and variances from the standards in patient care. Develops reports related to staff that include: time and attendance of staff, personnel issues, staffing changes, and overtime justifications. Participates in development of and operates within budget. Researches requests for budget variances and reviews with Vice President.

Advises subordinates on Budget preparation. Responsible for the training and evaluation of staff. Assigns, educates, and evaluates performance of nursing, technical, medical records, and clerical personnel. Identifies educational needs and arranges classes or on-the-job training for clinical and clerical staff. Assures compliance with safety procedures as specified within the policy and procedure manual. Identifies areas of risk within operations and patient and staff relations. Reports areas of concern to appropriate department and Vice President. Performs weekly facility rounds. Checks on plant and equipment. Assures that safety logs and required monitoring schedules are maintained and in a form suitable for inspection.

Performs fire drills, evacuation drills, and cardiac arrest drills on a quarterly basis. Identifies areas of concern in staff performances and coordinates education with appropriate NGHS departments. Maintains responsibility for quality assurance and process improvement. Collects all variance and incident reports. Reviews for thoroughness and completeness of data. Performs monthly inventories of supplies and equipment. Directs rotation of supplies within the clinics to reduce expiration losses and to minimize stores on hand. Responsible for capital inventory of the clinics to include the annual capital budget, capital tracking, and maintenance. Responsible for ensuring GHI clinics meet all accrediting body requirements. Maintains subject matter expertise in cardiovascular clinic management.

Partners with the Vice President to develop the strategic plan for the GHI clinics and clinical areas of service. Responsible for the GHI Clinical Call Center to include direct reporting structure, development and management of clinical protocols, auditing of clinical performance, and outcomes. Responsible for GHI education of staff, competency assessments, skills validation, and ongoing education and training. Responsible for utilization of Lean principles to develop and implement clinical standard work for staff. Utilizes standard work confirmation to ensure clinical standard work is being followed by staff. Responsible for ensuring clinical workflows support quality patient care and communication, meet industry standards, and promote exceptional patient experience.
