PRE-COLLEGE ADVISING MANAGER
Edmonds
Career Access Program (EdCAP)
SALARY: $57,323.51 – $61,426.20
LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington
DESCRIPTION:
The
Edmonds Career Access Program (EdCAP) is an on-campus youth reengagement program serving young people ages 16-21 who have experienced
barriers to success and are at risk of dropping out of high school. The Advising Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and
coordinating the enrollment and advising functions of the program. Managing day-to-day operations, the position also case manages students
and supervises case managers. This position is expected to use research-based best practices to foster student and programmatic success.
Leadership and collaboration with faculty, campus partners, the College’s school district partners, and the Washington State Office of the
Superintendent for Public Instruction (OSPI) is essential. This position will interpret complex regulations and implement efficient
processes. This work requires dedication, flexibility, teamwork and a passion to serve young people.
Responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:
- Oversee advising, registration and other enrollment service activities for EdCAP, including liaison with
community agencies - Work in collaboration with the EdCAP Program Specialist to develop, implement, and coordinate intervention and
success strategies related to the EdCAP Academic Progress policy and the Open Doors Youth Reengagement program guidelines. - Ensure
compliance with state and college regulations; respond positively to changes in program requirements - Serve as point of contact to
foster, strengthen and sustain positive relationship with Edmonds School District program partners - Provide effective management
through training and supervision of assigned staff (case managers, classified staff, part-time hourly and/or part time student
employees) - Provide case management to a caseload of up to 56 students; maintain accuracy and attention to detail in transcript and
assessment evaluations; coordinate student support meetings and interventions - Participate in program evaluation and collaborate
with the faculty department chairs and other Pre-College Division personnel; collect and analyze data to inform decision making - Maintain general working knowledge of the Becca Bill, FERPA, and House Bill (HB) 1418 (Open Doors Youth Reengagement) and other youth
re-engagement programs. - Demonstrate composure in high stress situations and adaptability to change
- Promote cooperation
and commitment to support student success and achieve Division goals - Demonstrate a willingness to carry out other duties as
required that support the college mission - Other responsibilities as assigned.
This is an exempt position that reports
to the Dean of Pre-College Education.
The Pre-College Division serves students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and is

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in social work, counseling education OR a related field
- At least two years of professional experience providing case management, counseling or related direct service to at-risk individuals or
16-21 year old young people - Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with, and
commitment to historically marginalized populations including individuals from first-generation, multicultural and low-income
backgrounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual/Multilingual, Spanish/English preferred
- Supervisory
experience - Experience working with young adults facing multiple barriers to success
- Masters in Social Work, Education,
Human Services, or related field, and/or strong work history connecting students/clients to community resources. - Computer
proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office and Google Applications. - Demonstrated success working in a team environment
including excellent collaborative and conflict resolution skills. - Established record providing effective, ongoing case management
and resource navigation for students experiencing barriers to success, especially in an educational setting. - Experience in Academic
Advising (High School Diploma, GED and/or college degrees/certificates) and/or experience in other student services programs. - High
organizational and problem solving abilities. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and balance a heavy workload.
PHYSICAL WORK
ENVIRONMENT:
Work will be performed primarily in an office or classroom setting, and onsite/in-person. Work is generally stationary,
sitting down with students or in front of the computer for most of the day. Other physical activity includes walking to the lobby to greet
students and standing for extended periods of time during orientations, workshops or class presentations. Occasional travel within the
state may be required for advising-related conferences and meetings.
COMPENSATION:
Salary is $57,323.51 – $61,426.20 and
is based on the Edmonds CC administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for
college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled
holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00
p.m., including some evenings and weekends.
FLSA Status:
The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards
Act requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

of hire.
