Job Description:
The Assistant Director of the Student Success
Center (SSC) manages the daily operations of Peer Tutoring and Academic Success Coaching (ASC). Peer tutoring provides one-on-one drop-in and by-appointment tutoring and hosts exam reviews for critical courses
in subjects such as math, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Academic Success Coaching provides peer coaches who meet with students
one-on-one to examine their learning and/or studying needs and collaboratively work to develop a personalized set of strategies. This role
oversees the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all peer tutors and peer academic success coaches. The Assistant Director
supervises two full-time and one part-time staff members who managed more than 80 peer educators. Using data, input from colleagues and
students, and literature regarding best practices, the Assistant Director develops and coordinates the SSC’s winter and summer Success
Workshop Series, which is designed to provide refreshers on foundational course concepts, prepare students for the rigor of UT Dallas
courses, and support college readiness. This position develops program learning outcomes, assesses program efficacy and identifies necessary
improvements, and supports a variety of SSC-wide functions, such as contributing to the leadership development
training for professional staff and all peer educators. This role works closely with faculty and staff from across the university,
represents the SSC on various committees, and presents at both small and large-scale student events about SSC services.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and
three plus years relevant professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires high quality written and verbal communication
skills. This position should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and
backgrounds. A successful candidate is a problem solver who will be able to facilitate solutions quickly and consistently. This position is
eligible for limited remote work opportunities after training is complete.
