Description
CLASS programming encompasses two broad areas: (1) tutoring and related academic support and (2) academic and
professional standards education and academic integrity case management. The Assistant Director for Academic Expectations oversees and
administers all aspects of the University’s academic integrity policy and procedures, including campus-wide administration of academic
integrity cases, from reporting to resolution. The Assistant Director also oversees design and administration of educational programming
aimed at ensuring that undergraduate and graduate students develop the knowledge and skills they need to meet the University’s academic and
professional expectations.
The Assistant Director communicates about sensitive academic integrity matters with faculty who report
suspected violations, students who have been reported for suspected violations, and staff, including assistant and associate deans, who
oversee adjudication of suspected violations in the schools and colleges. The Assistant Director is also responsible for developing and
delivering training and ongoing procedural support to the faculty, staff and students who serve as members of the University-wide Academic
Integrity Panel, which includes approximately 200 members appointed by the schools and
colleges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus three years¿ experience in policy or program
administration - Master’s degree or Ph.D. in higher education or a field relevant to policy and administration strongly
preferred - Experience in academic integrity, Title IX, student conduct or a related area of higher education
preferred - Knowledge of higher education operations and student information management systems preferred

matters with faculty, senior administrators, staff, and students across the University, as well as with colleagues within
CLASS - Ability to work with sensitivity and diplomacy and without direct supervision on high stakes matters that can be emotionally
charged for faculty, students, and parents - Experience designing and conducting training, preferably in the administration of
policies or procedures - Ability and, preferably, experience, in supporting others in the effective administration of policies or
procedures - Ability and, preferably, experience in the use and management of case management databases
- Excellent verbal and
written communication skills - Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues,
parents, and students from diverse personal and professional backgrounds. - Passion for learning and personal and professional
growth - Commitment to the mission and vision of the University and of CLASS, especially regarding academic excellence and opportunity

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director to oversee and evaluate
the University¿s academic integrity policy and procedures, and update them as needed, and partner with the school and college deans who
serve as Academic Integrity Coordinators to ensure that cases are handled promptly, consistently, and in accord with policy and
procedures. - Create and conduct training for the approximately 200 faculty, staff, and students appointed by their schools and
colleges to serve as academic integrity panel members and provide them and the approximately 300 faculty and instructors who report
suspected violations annually with ongoing procedural support. - Lead development, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of
academic and professional expectations education for all undergraduate and graduate students, including the Academic Integrity Seminar
required of students whose violations are upheld, in partnership with the CLASS director, faculty, staff, and students. - Collaborate
with the CLASS administrative assistant and supervise this staff member in processing and maintenance of all academic integrity case records
and the related case management database as well as in providing support to students facing suspected violations, including formal
notification, responding to student and parent inquiries, and training and support of the school and college Academic Integrity
