Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Leadership and Community Development is primarily responsible for:
- Advisement: Advising and providing oversight for advisement of Multicultural Center Organizations (MCOs)
- Leader development: Assessing group dynamics and leadership abilities, and providing situational direction, resources, and coaching tailored to the assessed need of each group/individual.
- Group development: Developing and implementing outcomes-based learning and team-building sessions for the collective MCO student leadership.
- Programming: Planning, designing, and overseeing the delivery and execution of Multicultural Center programs and services.
- Supervision: Supervising graduate assistants

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$48,000 annual, combined with an excellent benefits package
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
- One or more of the following:
a. Two or more years of full-time professional experience in antiracism, equity, inclusion, and justice programming
b. Two or more years of advisement of student groups/organizations that advocate and program for historically marginalized student populations.
c. Master’s or equivalent degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Social Work, Counseling, Ethnic or Women and Gender Studies, or similar field.

Work Hours
Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, some weekend and evening hours
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Lift and move 40 lbs. of materials using a cart.
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
- Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
- Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
