ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS
The county is composed of six Constituencies, 15 administrative divisions namely: Ainamoi,Belgut, Kabianga, Bureti, Roret, Cheborge, Sigowet and Soin. Other Admibnistrative Divisions are: Kunyak, Chilchila, Kamasian, Kipkelion, Londiani, Sorget and Chepseon. These are further su-devided into 85 locations that are further sub-divided into 209 sub-locations. It covers an area of2,479 sq. km.KCPSB/2023/198
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities entail: –
Preparation of development plans, proposals and designs for new and improved workshop facilities;
Implementation of workshop development programmes;
Design of vehicles bodies, special purpose plant, vehicles and plant modifications, and other items;
Preparation of requirements for procurement and replacement, overhaul, utilization, allocation and arrangement of the vehicle, plant, equipment and workshops tools;
Building services in the department headquarters and central workshops;
Manpower development and training; preparation and submissions of reports and returns;
Staff discipline and welfare;
Repair and maintenance of the mechanical machines and equipment;
Provision of transport services;
Submission of regular reports, advising on spares;
Enforcement of quality; submission of regular progress reports;
Advising on spares holdings and on all matters connected with maintenance and repair of vehicles and plant; and
Managing the Mechanical and Transport Fund at the regional level;
Control and supervisions of a transport office and the fleet of vehicles in a ministry;
Advising and monitoring on servicing;
Repairs, maintenance and disposal of vehicles, plant and equipment in a ministry; and
Staff discipline and welfare.
Requirements for Appointment
Served as Assistant Engineer I (Mechanical) or comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its Equivalent from a recognized Institution;
Been registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
Current Valid annual Practicing License from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
Corporate Membership with the Institutions of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)
Attended a Project Development and Management Course lasting not less than four (4)Weeks from a recognized Institution; and
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract.
