JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Production Manager and Associate Production Manager, serves as a manager in the production of Brooks Center academic, professional, and community performances. Provides technical expertise in rigging, audio, lighting, design, stage management, maintenance and performances. Serves as the lighting and/or stage manager during events. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% – Essential – Management:
Manages production student workers crew calls. Ensures all student employees, emerging residents, over hire and guest production workers observe proper theater safety to ensure an OSHA-compliant work environment. Trains student employees in technical operation of the theater including audio, lighting, counterweight fly system, and other production elements. Under the direction of the Production Manager and Associate Production Manager, creates and manages educational opportunities for Clemson students that increase professional work experience.
30% – Essential – Lighting:
Oversees all installation of related lighting equipment for events including hanging, focusing, and maintenance of lighting systems. Conventional fixture repair and maintenance. Serves as the main point of contact for lighting during events. Stays current on industry standards and trends as they pertain to theatrical lighting control systems. Designs lighting for performances and rental events based on clear communication with clients and supervisors that adheres to Brooks Center standards.
25% – Essential – Production and Event Operations:
Assists with production of all events in the Brooks Center theater including audio, lighting, rigging, stage management and other production operations to ensure events are executed safely, with technical proficiency and adhere to Brooks Center standards. Maintains knowledge of Brooks Center lighting, audio, rigging and other technical equipment as well as safety standards. Duties include but are not limited to: setup, execution, break down, and cleanup of events, tuning maintenance and operation of sound system, operation of the counterweight fly system, and setup, operation, and maintenance of orchestra shell.
10% – Essential – Stage Management:
Manages event protocols such as top of show safety announcements, front of house communications and emergency safety protocols. Clearly communicates production schedule and safety procedures with front of house management during events. Maintains positive client relationships resulting in repeat business. Communicates facility rules and regulations in a clear and personable manner.
5% – Essential – Technical Support:
Provides technical assistance to the Department of Performing Arts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – High School or Equivalent
Work Exp 3+ years

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 04 (expected range: $29,061.00 – $45,000)
