Job Description
The Audience Services Manager is responsible for assuring that the front-of-house and box office operations in the Modern and Sullivan Studio Theatres are operated safely and efficiently. This role will work to provide an enjoyable and seamless experience for all University theatre patrons.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide professional front-of-house and box office management in the Sullivan Studio and Modern Theatres during events to assure efficient and safe use of the venues by members of the Suffolk community, user organizations, and patrons. Use good judgement and present a high-level of confidence and professionalism as a fully professional public representative of the University and Department. Audience Services Manager will work to be a role model and mentor for the student core of ushers
- Execute pre-event front-of-house and box office planning, organization, and support for events in the Sullivan Studio and Modern Theatres including; checking and responding to Box Office emails and phone calls, arranging for SUPD details for events
- Managing of front-of-house and box office event employees and student ushers including: hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling any front-of-house and box office event employees and student ushers.
- Develop and implement policy and procedures related to the public spaces in the theatres, including pre-event planning, on-site operations and hospitality, emergency response, maintaining lobby aesthetic quality, cleanliness and managing the on-line ticketing and phone service vendor and data bases.
- General support (as needed). Throughout the year, as part of the Theatre Department team, provide general support as needed in departmental projects and operations.
