Starting Rate: Band 11 – $112,200 -$148,700

Position Summary:
The Campus Vice President (CVP) is responsible for providing tactical/operational leadership and complex administrative support for their assigned campus to ensure the delivery of outstanding service to students and the campus community. The Campus Vice President will be required to manage complex projects, such as Centers of Excellence, that cut across organizational areas to meet the objectives for the campus and college. The CVP will be responsible for day-to-day operations of campus grants, strategic initiatives at the campus, and operational aspects of Centers of Excellence.
Pima Community College’s East Campus is home to the College’s Center of Excellence for IT & Cyber Security, including a collaboration with the Arizona Cyber Warfare Range to offer the first ever community college hosted live fire cyber warfare range. In addition to this center of excellence, East Campus offers a host of transfer courses and signature programs in Emergency Medical Technologies, Veterinary Technology, Administration of Justice and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
The campus also hosts an Early College program in partnership with the highly regarded and innovative Vail School District. Other unique aspects of the campus include a makerspace freely open to students, an outdoor Sculpture on Campus series, and popular gaming area for on campus recreation.
In addition to job duties listed below, the Campus Vice President (CVP) for East Campus:
- Provides leadership, guidance, and financial support to the Campus’s Sculpture on Campus series in collaboration with the Arts Division
- Ensures the success of the Vail Early College program
- Assumes leadership of space utilization efficiencies
- Partners with the library to manage the makerspace and ensure growth of co-curricular programming
- Collaborates with the College’s other divisions to create potential new Centers of Excellences on campus
- Serves as the College’s point of contact for the Tucson Parks & Recreation Clement’s Center partnerships
- Participates as an active member in the Vail Area Chamber of Commerce and collaborate with with the Vail School District
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a culture of collaboration utilizing data-informed decision making leading to increased student enrollment, retention, and completion
- Ensure that the campus, students, and employees operate in a safe and efficient manner, following all policies and procedures
- Provide leadership in developing and sustaining collaborative, integrated partnerships in the campus area
- Participate in community outreach and development activities including development of external funding sources
- Represent the campus to external stakeholders in campus area (in collaboration with appropriate college departments)
- Recognize and create opportunities in response to emerging business and educational trends
- Research and develop recommendations for programs
- Support accountability systems to ensure program/service goals, objectives, policies, and procedures are met
- Provide operational support to academic deans, instructional staff, faculty and adjunct faculty, and staff working at the assigned campus
- Ensure successful daily operations of the campus, Student Affairs, instructional support, the library, campus grants, academic divisions, campus facilities, campus information technology, and additional work units on the assigned campus
- Manage campus operating budgets and annual capital budget requests
- Coordinate the evaluation of activities and operations to ensure goals, objectives, and the needs of the student population are met
- Participate in the development and implementation of the campus strategic and facilities plans
- Develop mechanisms for a wide range of delivery systems and the use of new and emerging technology in support of campus operations
- Coordinate activities with other College departments and campuses and outside agencies
- Ensures that the college complies with all state, federal, and Higher Learning Commission policies and requirements
- Support the selection of faculty and staff
- Create and maintain a high level of staff morale conducive to the development of instructional and service innovations
- Mentor, motivate and evaluate personnel
- Serve on a variety of committees and study groups
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in related field of study and
- Ten years of related experience
or
- An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred:
- Six plus years of related experience with supervisory experience
