Brown Physicians, Incorporated (BPI) announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished group practice executive to serve as the inaugural Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for their academic not-for-profit multispecialty physician practice. Founded in 2017, BPI is led by faculty affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and is composed of six foundations which include Brown Dermatology, Brown Emergency Medicine, Brown Medicine, Brown Neurology, Brown Urology, and Brown Surgical Associates.
Reporting to the President and Executive Director the CAO is responsible for the continued success of BPI by providing operational and financial leadership to its 17 practice locations of both inpatient and outpatient services with approximately 500physicians, 150 advanced practice providers and 700 total staff. The CAO will oversee the daily operations and help BPI exceed its mission of providing outstanding patient care, exceptional medical education, and groundbreaking advances in research to promote better health for the people of Rhode Island and its surrounding communities. The CAO will have management responsibilities for all BPI centralized functions including Finance, Information Technology, Electronic Medical Records, Human Resources, Marketing, Revenue Cycle, and Analytics. Serving as the administrative and financial liaison between BPI, Brown University, and affiliates, the CAO will work closely with the Foundation Board of Directors and senior leadership team to establish, communicate, and implement strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will bring 5 years’ experience of financial and budget management with 10+ years of experience as an executive leader in a large medical group practice or faculty practice plan with both operational and administrative oversight for multiple specialties in a 100M+ revenue organization. A demonstrated track record leading in an academic environment with success driving strategic initiatives around planning, operations, and financial management in an academic faculty practice plan is highly preferred. A master’s degree in business administration, healthcare or related field is required.
