EOE Position Information: The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing executive oversight for the general day-to-day operations of the Southern Atlantic Healthcare Alliance (SAHA). This includes all operational activities for SAHA, including maintaining member relationships, negotiating contracts with vendor partners and other external organizations to generate savings to members, and disseminating information on those contracts to SAHA members. The Chief Executive Officer collaborates with the Board of Directors to fulfill the mission of the Southern Atlantic Healthcare Alliance and ensure the ongoing delivery of value to the members of the Alliance. SAHA’s fulfills its mission by working to deliver value to the membership through facilitating networking opportunities, sharing of best practices, identification of business opportunities, and aggregation of member volumes to achieve cost savings for member hospitals. Operational Responsibilities:
* Provides vision, leadership, and direction for the Alliance
* Develops a list of annual goals and objectives
* Identifies opportunities and implements new programs or services in the areas of need or interest to members
* Ensures the effective daily management of operations and financial management of the Alliance.


* Identifies and pursues opportunities to recruit new members to the Alliance
* Ensures adequate and effective SAHA communications to members regarding SAHA contracts and other opportunities via email, website, and in-person meetings between vendors and members
* Ensures that the SAHA website is up to date and effective
* Ensures that SAHA’s internal IT system is current and effective; including website updates, website security/SSL certificate, SAHA email system and listserv capabilities, and Zoom platform management Financial Responsibilities:
* Prepares an annual budget to ensure the efficient and effective management of expenses
* Determines annual dues requirements necessary to fund operations
* Prepares standard Financial Reports to be presented to the Board on a quarterly basis
* Ensures that member dues are billed and collected on a quarterly basis
* Reviews and approves calculations of quarterly management fees payable to WakeMed under the WakeMed / SAHA Management Services Agreement
* Coordinates accounts payable through WakeMed to ensure that payments are made and received in a timely manner Liaison with Member Hospitals
* Builds and maintains effective relationships with the leadership teams of member hospitals and keeps them apprised of key developments at SAHA
* Meets with key leaders of member hospitals on a regular basis. This includes but is not limited to the CEO, CFO, Supply Chain, and Revenue Cycle Executives
* Allocates specific time to each member to enhance focus on savings and value optimization
* Ensures that the various SAHA member teams – CFOs, CNOs, Revenue Cycle, Laboratory, Radiology, Rehab, Quality, Materials Managers, etc. are engaged with SAHA initiatives. Virtual team meetings will be focused on sharing best practices, contract solutions, etc.
* Engages these groups to make decisions regarding SAHA based initiatives to create value for member hospitals
* Maintains the SAHA list-serv as a resource for members to share questions and best practices
* Ensures that the SAHA Board of Directors meets on a regular basis and is actively involved in SAHA’s governance and direction
* Prepares the Board agenda and arranges Educational Presentations as appropriate to ensure Board engagement
* Serves as a general resource to members Contracts and Cost Savings:
* Conducts contract negotiations to secure discounted pricing for members
* Maintains an updated list of contracts on the SAHA website
* Actively seeks partnership opportunities that would benefit members by participating in HFMA, NCHA, and ACHE events
* Calculates the Return on Investment for members on a quarterly basis and maintains records of quantifiable savings by member
* Serves as a liaison between members and vendor partners
* Markets contracts to SAHA membership via Team Meetings, email blasts, and personal interaction Other Duties as Assigned. Experience Requirements: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in healthcare management and/or healthcare alliances or partnerships. C-Suite level experience as a hospital executive is preferred. Education Required: Master’s Degree Health Administration Or Master’s Degree Business Administration Or Master’s Degree Related Field Required Licensure/Certification Requirements: Not Applicable Hours of Work: Days Weekend Requirements: As Needed Call Requirements: As Needed
