Lewes, Delaware,     Summary: Performs Medical Necessity for ICD-10 Coding, scans documents in Document Imaging. Handles all inbound customer contacts received by telephone, electronically, and in person. Faxes results and information via LIS. Accurately documents all communication. Actively participates in determining valid medical necessity documentation and pre-billing review. Prepares supply orders for delivery via courier and dispatches couriers to respond to requests for laboratory services for Beebe and independent provider offices that utilize laboratory services.   Other information: One to three years medical office or laboratory experience with good organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively and discreetly with patients, physicians, healthcare professionals, and the general public. Demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure. Willingness to increase knowledge of laboratory/hospital functions.

Knowledge of office related equipment.   Responsibilities: Performs Medical Necessity and data checks for accuracy and completeness, comparing requisition and LIS system, following medical center policies and procedures to include National Safety Goals, Corporate Integrity/HIPPA. Verifies non-staff physician information including phone number, address, fax number and patient relationship to ensure accurate reporting and safety of patient information. Handles all customer inquiries received by telephone, fax, or email regarding reporting of patient results, inquiries of tests and services, concerns of service failures and other duties to provide superior customer service. Reports and escalates client concerns using established protocols. Receives and transmits client information via electronic and/or telephone to dispatch laboratory couriers to meet the needs of external and internal customers. Backfills laboratory couriers during times of high volumes, staff member PTO, and as needed. Performs other duties as assigned to meet laboratory and customer requirements.     Competencies and skills: Essential:
