Valhalla, New York, Job Summary: Under the direction of the Health Information Management leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating ongoing training sessions for coder trainees and Junior Coders on all current and future education and coding software applications. Must have thorough knowledge of ICD/CPT/HCPCS guidelines, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills is required and be proficient in working with multiple computer application, and EMR systems. Responsibilities: Participates in the development of education materials and manuals. Participates in the design and development of any future systems. Develop instruction strategies for new and existing training programs. Coordinates training program schedules with participants, instructors and department management. Educate and train coders on system operability in an efficient manner. Prepares and distributes training aids; instruction materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids. Keeps abreast of coding guideline changes that affect coding and reimbursement Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and principals Maintains Coding Clinic updates.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of case mix indexing Maintains knowledge of all current Federal and State coding guidelines. Qualifications/Requirements: Experience: Must have 5-7years related experience in an acute care environment, must be proficient with multiple EMR systems, 3M Encoder and possess strong communication skills analytical skills and strong customer service and management experience. Education: Associate’s, required. Bachelor’s degree in a health related field is preferred. Licenses / Certifications: AHIMA/AAPC credentials required Special Requirements: Previous teaching, leadership, and electronic medical records experience a plus About Us: NorthEast Provider Solutions Inc.
