Department Overview The Materials Management department handles the supply chain operations for supplies, equipment, and mail at Children’s.
This includes product selection, sourcing, contract management, purchasing, receiving, inventory management, distribution, cleaning/sterilization, medical equipment maintenance, and disposal. Position Summary Responsible for timely and effective contract management for assigned product categories, including products, services and equipment, including capital. Leads contract price, terms and conditions negotiations with suppliers on behalf of Children’s MN; Leads RFP processes; Owns capital and construction buying process to include obtaining quotes, negotiating price, terms and conditions, and timely order placement. Key collaborator with Children’s MN legal department. Leads GPO contract awareness, review and activation process; serves as contract subject matter expert in support of assigned value analysis teams. Provides cost analysis, secures product samples and product information for Value Analysis. Accountable to meet annual savings targets for assigned contracts. Owns price discrepancy resolution related to contracted products and ensures correct price is loaded into ERP system.
