Job Summary
The Auburn Department of Theatre & Dance seeks to hire a Coordinator, Stage Operations in the area of lighting and sound.
With around 100 majors, the Department of Theatre & Dance offers a B.A. in theatre as well as B.F.A degrees in performance, musical theatre, design & technology, and theatre management. The department is housed in a dedicated theatre facility including a 365-seat house with proscenium/thrust stage, a black box performance space, studio theatre, design studio, fully equipped shops, two dance/movement studios, a smart classroom, and computer lab.

Essential Functions
- Oversee and lead students and student employees in the execution and construction of set and lighting designs.
- Serve as lead carpenter and electrician for all season productions.
- Oversee all non-Auburn University Theatre groups and personnel using Auburn University Theatre facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure the immediate safety of students and student employees in accordance with shop safety standards.
- Ensures the maintenance and availability of lighting and sound inventory.
- Evaluate practicum students and provide feedback to faculty.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or related field with no experience.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or related field plus 2 years experience in technical theatre support or theatrical set construction. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.
Level III: Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or related field plus 4 years experience in technical theatre support or theatrical set construction. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
