Albuquerque, New Mexico, Primary responsibility will be Oracle Databases Administration with Microsoft SQL Server Database as the secondary responsibility. Department: IT – Sys/Devpmt & Admin App FTE: 1. 00 Full Time (30 – 40 hours per week) Shift: Days Primary responsibility will be Oracle Databases Administration with Microsoft SQL Server Database as the secondary responsibility. Position Summary: Plans, organizes, oversees, designs and coordinates the source and use of data in mission-critical computer applications within University Hospital and the Health Sciences Center to ensure that all core data set elements are defined, collected, stored, interfaced and reported accurately in support of the strategic business objectives of the Health Sciences Center. Works with Information System (IS) staff, IS customers within the organization, with vendors and other external entities as appropriate to develop process controls and audits, interface specifications, etc. so that internal computer applications adhere to agreed upon data definitions and standards. Supports the decision support efforts of the organization to ensure that critical management reporting is available to managers and administrators on a timely basis. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment. Detailed responsibilities:
* DATA – Facilitate a process to define and maintain a core data set of clinical, financial and administrative data elements for the Hospitals and Health Sciences Center
* DATA – Develop and maintain a set of standard definitions of all core data set elements
* DATABASE – Assume responsibility for database performance and integrity, production of special projects, and dictionary set-up and maintenance
* DATABASE – Develop and maintain a database that tracks the source, owner, use and retention period for each data element as well as the field name, filename, type and field size across computer applications
* NEEDS ASSESSMENT – Work with end-users to define reporting needs and to develop appropriate access strategies based on need and available technologies
* DATABASE – Work with end-users, vendors and the IS team to develop interface specifications, test plans, upgrade strategies, etc.

to follow testing and audit policies that minimize risk to databases and increase processing efficiency
* TOOLS – Evaluate and develop recommendations of reporting and decision support tools in order to better assess end-user data access options
* DESIGN – Proactively participate in capacity planning, database design with outside vendors, and development of security, data protection and backup policies
* STANDARDIZATION – Facilitate the development and use of common terms and standard data definitions across internal and external entities, including system partners, HMO’s and case management partners
* DATA – Participate in the development of functional requirements, system selection and system implementation of any data repository of clinical, financial or administrative information
* MEETINGS – Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as assigned
* PROJECTS – Work on special projects as requested
* AUDIT – Develop, oversee and conduct various routine and special audits, research and correct data to maintain integrity of programs Qualifications Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis. Education: Essential:
