Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Senior Dental Laboratory Technician will work onsite at the dentist office to process orders from the dentist. Advanced technical skills are needed to construct sophisticated implant and non-implant based dental prosthetics to exacting standards for fit and esthetics and use critical thinking to develop and share complex solutions with the dentist and auxiliary staff. While work methods follow established procedures and practices, candidates are expected to consult with their doctors and team using a high degree of judgment on a patient-by-patient basis. Responsibilities Providing full dental laboratory support for prosthodontist during daily patient procedures. The expert fabrication, fitting and articulation of all aspects of fixed dental prosthetics of all implant models, setting of denture teeth, denture processing and related components and processes all in a timely manner.
Removable and implant prosthetics retained, and supported type restoration repairs performed at a high level. The work also includes advanced fabrication of full arch hybrid restorations as well as denture design (partial, complete and over). Receiving and entering work orders and accompanying materials including impressions, models and components to ensure the accurate and on time fabrication of prosthetics to a patient-driven schedule. Maintains or coordinates the maintenance of all laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments and maintains supplies. Operate computers and standard office type applications such as web browsers, word processing and spreadsheet software applications as well as dental laboratory specific applications. Teaching and mentoring other technicians and auxiliary staff using the highest degree of professionalism and communicating clearly both verbally and in writing. Willingness to learn new procedures such as facial prosthetic design and fabrication. Providing design and fabrication of facial prosthetics with color vision acuity and color matching skills. Keen artistic and sculpting skills combined with ability to instruct patient on proper care and maintenance of prosthetic as well as follow up care.
