Job Description
*
The Museum Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for
creating multimedia content for digital platforms and updating and maintaining the museum’s website.
Responsibilities
include:
- Creating content with a consistent narrative that aligns with museum initiatives
- Creating and
editing digital media and video, and - Providing creative production coordination
- This position will collaborate with staff
to prioritize needs and edit, write, and/or design digital and website content and produce content related to exhibitions - Public
programs and education outreach, and collections and research

Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Communications, or related field,
AND:
- 24 months experience with digital content and multimedia design.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree for a total of
72 months related experience.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability
to build rapport with students, faculty and staff - Ability to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Strong knowledge of multimedia industry, camera equipment and best practices
- Highly organized and ability to handle multiple
projects and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements:

Sit for prolonged periods. Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Must be able to carry
equipment up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity. Standard office environment.
Departmental Preferences:
- Graduate degree (M.S.) in a discipline relevant or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of natural history collections
and natural history museums - Experience with training and/or overseeing personnel such as students, interns, or volunteers
- Experience with exhibit, education, and outreach activities for the general public
- Experience in supporting inclusion, equity,
and diversity in professional settings
