Job Summary

Provide direction, leadership and operational management of Title V Grant dedicated to implementing Guided Pathways, reforming academic advising, restructuring developmental level math courses, enhancing transfer and providing math boot camps for incoming students. Serve all students as a TRUE Learning Community by promoting student success through student learning, student development and student retention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and administer the Title V Grant programs, activities and services District wide and cross departmental, in collaboration with CAC’s academic leadership, faculty, student services personnel and other parties, as appropriate. Integrate the project with the appropriate college programs and services.
  • Coordinate with technical assistance and outside entities to support Grant work.
  • Manage overall operations of the program including recruiting, training, supervision and staff evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and CAC policies, rules and regulations.
  • Establish, coordinate, and maintain effective inter-institutional partnerships with staff, faculty, universities and the community at large through direct contact, advisory committees, and other similar methods when required.
  • Monitor and evaluate the project’s progress towards achieving its objectives. Collect, organize and assist in the analysis of data for evaluation purposes.
  • Manage contractual reporting requirements to include generating and monitoring financial reports, budgeting and short/long-term planning. 
  • Manage the Grant budget within CAC guidelines and Federal government guidelines (Federal compliance).
  • Purchase services, products and materials in compliance with federal requirements and CAC policy.
  • Attend any Title V project director conferences required by the US Department of Education.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position to include the recruitment and retention of students.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree

EXPERIENCE: Four years related experience, one of which is in a grant setting

HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree and Grant Management experience, Project Management experience, experience in a higher education/community college setting.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge, skill and experience in Project Management
  • Knowledge and skill in principles of management, planning, leading, organizing and regulating
  • Knowledge and skill in preparing, managing and monitoring budgets
  • Knowledge, skill and experience in establishing goals and objectives, identifying problems and developing/implementing solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in the principles of supervision to include training, evaluation, discipline methods and techniques, conflict resolution and employee motivation
  • Knowledge and experience with concepts and principles of research including data gathering analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in educational technology, computer software and hardware as well as peripheral operation
  • Knowledge of student development theory as it applies to student academic advising, university transfer and degree completion
  • Knowledge of learning theories as they apply specifically to developmental education
  • Ability to manage a complex federal grant

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Duties require little physical effort in working with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed cause light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting and repetitive motion.

Has significantly high interactions with students, program participants and/or the public. Works with highly confidential information and/or interacts on a regular basis with high profile individuals where interactions require a well-developed understanding of human behavior and the ability to apply those skills in situations where the outcome is unpredictable.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
