Title: Director of the IT Student Learning Center
Division Name: Academic Affairs
Department: School of Information Technology
Campus Location: Normal, IL

Job Summary

The director of the IT Learning Center will supervise day-to-day operations of the center which provides no-cost tutoring to undergraduate and graduate students taking IT courses. This includes working directly with students in need of tutoring as well as supervising other student tutors. The director will also lead group study sessions, conduct a summer workshop for incoming students and train Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) who support our programming classes.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience, combined with an excellent benefits package

Required Qualifications

1. Masters in Computer Science or related discipline.
2. 3 years or more of experience in Java Programming
3. Strong communication skills.

Work Hours

Generally Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional weekend and evening hours as business needs dictate

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
