Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides advising, registration advice and
individualized assistance to assigned students from point of admission through graduation which could include up to 4 years. -
Implements specific advising programs that ensure academic progress and success such as Registration Outreach, transitional Student
Guidance, Early and Mid-Semester Warning systems, Probationary Student Support, etc. - Collaborates and communicates with various
departments, units, student support offices, faculty, staff and others ensuring joint program development and optimal student support. - Organizes our Summer Research Experience Program, connecting students with mentors, supervising the Graduate students who teach our
STEM seminars and create programming opportunities for students in our program.
General Responsibilities
- In consultation with leadership, develops, designs, and maintains diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion program objectives to
support organizational goals. - Develops communications and serves as liaison to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
program participants, collaborators in other units, community partners, and leadership members. - Provides mechanisms, training,
and advice on diversity-related topics, such as cultural understanding, implicit bias, recruitment and retention strategies, inclusive
terminology, and team dynamics, to a variety of audiences. - Recruits, trains, directs, schedules, and evaluates faculty and staff
partners, students and volunteers. Mentors, serves as a resource and provides guidance to team staff members as needed. - May
serve on various committees and provide input on strategic direction for the department or unit. - Arranges staff travel,
accommodations, and research activities as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years in diversity, equity, and inclusion programming or related field

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate
a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around
an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an
