Position Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Office of Multicultural
Affairs, the Program Coordinator, Identity & Social Justice Programs is responsible for creating, designing and implementing support
initiatives for historically marginalized and underrepresented student populations; creating, designing, and delivering cross-cultural and
social justice programming, services, and trainings; providing support to cultural and identity based student organizations; and creating
assessment tools for evaluation of programs and services.

Job Description
45% Identity & Social Justice Programming:

  • Creates, designs, facilitates, and implements identity and equity-based
    programming and services in response to trends and needs of historically underrepresented student populations.
  • Designs, plans,
    organizes, and facilitates student campus-wide dialogue, social justice, and equity education programming.
  • Collaboratively
    coordinates campus-wide activities for MLK Day, Heritage Months, and other campus wide diversity, equity, and inclusion
    programming.
  • Prepares and manages budgets for programming and support initiatives.
  • Assists with marketing and promotion of
    programming and services.
  • Provides program and engagement data for assessment and reporting purposes.

35% Student
Support:

  • Creates and advises identity-based student advisory group.
  • Provides general support, advocacy, and
    referrals for individual students to campus resources that support persistence and belonging.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative
    relationships with department and campus partners with the ability to understand and articulate the needs and concerns of the students
    served by the OMA from a perspective that includes intersections of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability,
    socioeconomic status, and other significant aspects of individual and cultural identity.

15%
Administration:

  • Assists with the coordination of signature programs, including the OMA Block Party and Multicultural
    Graduation.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student employees.

5% Other:

  • Performs other related duties
    as assigned by the Director.

Position Requirements
Availability to work some evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field OR Bachelor’s degree with three years
    of relevant experience.
  2. Experience with programming within a social justice or identity-based organization focused on equity,
    inclusion, and liberation.
  3. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, especially Black/African American,
    Hispanic/Latinx, Native/Indigenous Americans, Asian and/or Asian Americans, Pell-eligible, and/or first-generation college
    students.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum of one year experience facilitating equity-informed workshops
    and trainings for diverse audiences.
  2. Minimum of one-year proven ability to collaborate successfully with campus and community
    partners to develop innovative and engaging social justice programs and initiatives.
