Description:

Title: Embedded Classroom Tutor (SUCCESS)

Unit: Part-Time Non Unit

Department: SUCCESS

Reports To: Assistant Dean of Student Success Initiatives

Date: Fall 2023

General Summary:

This is a part time, temporary position.

The Embedded Tutor (of the multiple subjects) will:

  • Assist students in classroom settings on the assigned subject
    matter
  • Run small group projects or discussions
  • Circulate around the classroom to support students who need support with
    classwork
  • Assist students with developing good study habits in the assigned subject area.
  • Support reading and writing skills
    in designated area.
  • Facilitate a study group in designated area when needed.
  • Update Professors on student progress through
    verbal and written communication
  • Communicate regularly with staff, faculty, and students.
  • Provide additional/ scaffolded
    supports for SUCCESS students
  • Attend tutor training sessions.
  • Meet with supervisor to discuss tutor feedback.
  • Comply
    with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements:

  • All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have
    Master’s Degree or higher in subject area
  • Must have good study habits
  • Must have excellent computer literacy
    skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills

Additional Information:

Roxbury Community
College offers competitive salaries.

The starting hourly salary for this position begins at $30.16.00, commensurate with the
qualifications and years of related experience.

Effective Date: Fall 2023

Appointment is subject to SORI

background check.
