Schedule: Full Time The role you’ll contribute: The Enterprise Network Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and guidance of a highly experienced team of Enterprise Network Engineers in the deployment and continued support of network infrastructure systems in the areas of Route/Switch, Security, and Wireless technologies. Technologies utilized by the Enterprise Network Engineering Team include: Cisco ACL, Cisco Meraki, Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Prime, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Fabric Path, Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto Firewall, Panorama, IDS, IPS, Silver Peak SD-WAN Optimization, and Wireless Flex Connect. The position also requires demonstrated competence in LAN/WAN technologies, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, SDN, SDA, and Software Defined Networking. Last, the Enterprise Network Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of cross-functional teams in relation to the deployment and support of the physical/virtual network infrastructure, which includes technologies such as VMWare, Linux, Windows Server, physical Servers, and enterprise storage arrays. The value you’ll bring to the team: Administration The Enterprise Network Engineering Supervisor is actively involved in the overall coordination of the Network Engineering Team projects, resource assignments, technical mentoring, and related administrative activities.
Examples of the administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: · Collaboration – Participate in business planning meetings to understand and recommend the best technical, most cost-effective, network solutions that meet initial capacity, long-term scalability and growth, and performance requirements. · Change Control – Coordinate and represent the team in the Technical Change Control process and related meetings. Update the team and appropriate individuals regarding changes to the Change Management policy and procedures. · Mentoring – Work with the Enterprise Network Engineers, providing them with both technical and professional guidance. Assist in the management in the development of educational plans and knowledge transfer sessions in order to increase the technical and professional skill level of the team. · Policy and Standards – At the guidance of the Manager and Director, assist in creating the policy and standards that will be used to guide the deployment and support of enterprise network infrastructure. Further, assist in providing the appropriate review and oversight of the developed policies and standards to verify that they are being successfully followed. · Resource Coordination – Under the leadership of the Manager, provide the required project, support and resource coordination for the Enterprise Network Engineering Team. Schedule weekly technical team meetings for the engineers to discuss current projects and support issues, as well as resource assignments. · Status Reports – Submit weekly status reports to the team Manager that provide a high-level summary of projects, support and administrative topics.
· Team Escalation – Serve as an escalation contact for the team and represent the team to Leadership whenever the team Manager is not available or out of office. Serve as an escalation contact for team members and a representative to Leadership whenever the team manager is not available. · Technical Planning – Assist the Manager in the development of strategic roadmaps and related timelines that help position the Enterprise Network Engineering Team to meet both the short-term and long-term technical and business-related objectives of the organization. Provide the required technical oversight to guarantee the successful completion of the listed projects and timelines. Network Administration The Technical responsibilities of the Enterprise Network Engineering Supervisor include the design, deployment, upgrade and support of the enterprise and facility network infrastructure. Examples of the duties and responsibilities included, but are not limited to, the following: · Network Infrastructure Support – Provide the required network support for the deployment of infrastructure network topology architecture, processes and reports. Investigate functionality issues related to application data, security and system configurations. Work with technical application teams in the review, analysis and resolution to application related performance issues. · Network Administration – Perform the required work associated with network administration, such as the installation and configuration of network infrastructure, the deployment of backup and recovery processes for network, and the implementation of maintenance processes that ensure the continued stability and performance of network systems. Examples of specific tools associated network administration include: o Cisco Prime o Network Probes o DNA Center o Packet Brokers o SolarWinds o LiveAction o Network Time Machine o Infinistream o Wireshark o iPerf · Network Infrastructure Architecture – In collaboration with the Principal Network Engineers and architects from other cross-functional teams, and at the oversight of the Manager, design, implement, and support the physical infrastructure that hosts the Enterprise Systems at Advent Health.
· Disaster Recovery – Assist the organization in the performing of scheduled Disaster Recovery tests for designated mission critical systems. · High-Availability – Work with other application and other technical teams in provide localized high-availability · Lifecycle Management – Assist in the development of project plans, including related timelines, for the scheduled refresh and network version upgrades of existing systems. The project plans should incorporate both short-term and long-term technical objectives, along with analysis on capacity, performance and security considerations. · Monitoring and Optimization – Manage and participate in the monitoring, optimization and diagnosis of currently deployed network systems. Provide the appropriate documentation to management, detailing the root cause analysis of outages, performance concerns, and propose resolution and optimization options. Examples of specific tools to monitor and optimize system performance include: SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Network Probes, Packet brokers, iPerf, SDA and Cisco DNA Center, . · Security – Work closely with the Manager and the Enterprise Security Architecture Team to plan, design, implement, support, and monitor that the security initiatives are being met for the organization. · Technical System Support – Collaborate with the Principal Network Engineers, Network Lead Engineers and other technical teams to implement, configure, and support the Enterprise Network Infrastructure. Assist in the initial capacity analysis, deployment design, and overall system architecture needed to support the Network platform and expected support activity. Provide the necessary support in the investigation and resolution of system level issues.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : · Proven skills in the coordination of team resources for enterprise projects and support tasks. This includes the facilitation of weekly team project meetings. · Proven skills to lead a technical team of Enterprise Network Engineers in the technical areas of Route/Switch Security, and Wireless technologies. · Proven skills in providing guidance, mentorship and development of team of technical engineers. · Proven skills in serving in the role of an escalation contact for a technical operations team. · Proven skills in both verbal and written communication. · Proven skills with Cisco platforms such as Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Firepower and Palo Alto Firewalls in a production environment. · Proven skills with network operating systems such as Catalyst, Nexus, Linux and Windows systems. · Proven skills in discussing and planning application architecture with cross-functional application, business, technical teams and third-party vendors. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: · Technical writing skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · B. A or B. S. in a degree such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology or 8 years related experience. · Minimum of 8 years in the support of an enterprise network platform in a 24×7 environment, including platforms such as Wireless, Security and Route Switch. · Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting network infrastructure platforms such as wireless Flex Connect, VPN, Content filtering, Data Center, Nexus, Catalyst and management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: · Experience working in a healthcare environment. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED: · Certification in a current or the latest version of an enterprise version of Cisco Administration.
