Job Summary:
The Equity and Equal Opportunity Assistant in the Office of Equity and Equal Opportunity (“OEEO”) is an entry-level position that will assist OEEO staff with investigations, manage the report intake process, assist with the development and delivery of training, and provide high-level administrative support for the department.
The Equity and Equal Opportunity Assistant will support the OEEO’s mission of promoting fairness and justice, ensuring that each member of the Miami University community is and feels included, and will foster a diverse and welcoming environment that is equally accessible for all who live, learn, work and participate in activities at Miami University.
Duties/Physical Demands:
- Support the OEEO staff with unfair hiring practices investigations and protected class-based discrimination investigations.
- Manage the intake process for unfair hiring practice reports and protected class-based discrimination reports.
- Assist with the development of training presentations and responsible for compiling course content and building courses in online platforms (ex. Canvas).
- Manage the new hire online training program software; serve as subject matter expert; respond to inquiries from employees and provide solution delivery; serve as the liaison between the vendor and the University’s IT Services.
- Manage the case management system (Maxient and hard copies).
- Assist with public records requests.
- Oversee labor law poster compliance for all campuses.
- Supervise student employees.
- Serve as building point of contact and manage work orders.
- Other investigation, case management, training development, and administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree;
OR
- Associate’s degree and two (2) years of office experience;
OR
- Four (4) or more years of office experience.
Related experience gained during the completion of degree programs may be counted towards these requirements.
