Responsible for providing leadership to the theatre division in all matters regarding arts and culture including developing and setting the overall vision and mission. Oversees the administration of college-wide theatres including programming, budgeting, marketing, and grant coordination. Spearheads comprehensive fundraising plans for both operational and capital needs. Manages the daily operations of all theatre venues on the Lake Worth and Belle Glade campuses. The work schedule varies and requires evening and weekend hours.

Minimum Base Pay: $71,921.00. All salary calculations start at the minimum salary and will be based on candidate’s education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and supervision for all operations concerning theatres on all campuses including, managing effective performing arts programs, negotiating contracts, booking performances, and maintaining the master schedule for performances.   
  • Presents the theatre and college to diverse community populations and constituencies. Collaborates with community groups on theatre programs and events. Acquires and implements external funding to support the presenting program and outreach activities.
  • Manages the operations, scheduling, and production of performances at the theatre. Solves maintenance, access, traffic, and other facilities-related issues for all college theatres and cultural arts center.
  • Collaborates with college personnel to create and distribute effective marketing materials and campaigns for upcoming theatre programs and events. Evaluates the effectiveness and success of programs.
  • Participates in and manages all phases of a project. Oversees administrative details that may include annual subscription drives, box office operations, negotiating and managing theatre contracts, production project budgets, and the rental of department or campus facilities to outside parties.
  • Builds strong relationships with the artists who appear at the College theatres, national and international presenting organizations, and conference providers. Strengthens the College theatres brand locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Manages and provides guidance, direction, and observation of staff whom you directly and indirectly supervise. This includes but is not limited to conducting performance appraisals, goal setting, career and performance counseling, and identification and evaluation of training and development needs for staff.
  • Develops short-term and long-term goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
  • Monitors expenditures in assigned budget and holds self and staff accountable for financial practices that promote sound fiscal management.
  • Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations, as needed.
  • Maintains and performs in a safe workplace and follows established safety practices.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Six years of related experience
  • Supervisory experience

Knowledge of:

  • Producing theatrical productions
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:                

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Strategic thinking including effective planning, setting goals, monitoring progress, tracking results, and making appropriate adjustments to plans based on circumstances and context
  • Motivating employees to apply the effort necessary to attain organizational and departmental goals

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Gain the confidence and respect of diverse stakeholders in order to work effectively and build relationships of trust
  • Accurately manage a budget
