County of Santa Clara Health System (CSCHS), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, in San Jose CA, is seeking a full-time BC developmental behavioral pediatric (DBP) physician in our Department of Pediatrics at O’Connor Hospital.

About the organization
County of Santa Clara Health System (CSCHS) is the second-largest County-owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), an agency of CSCHS, is comprised of three hospitals: Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC – a 731-bed central hospital), O’Connor Hospital (OCH – 358 licensed beds), and Saint Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH – 93 licensed beds). In addition CSCHS includes a large primary care network comprised of eleven health centers throughout the County, several urgent care clinics, a broad-range of specialty services in our Valley Specialty Center, comprehensive dental services, a large behavioral health department, public health, EMS, and Valley Health Plan.
OCH itself hosts a joint Family Medicine residency and a sports medicine training programs with Stanford. OCH also serve a rotation site for medical students from Stanford and other schools.
SCVMC hosts five residency training programs and partners with Stanford University Medical Center for the training of residents and fellows in many Stanford-based specialties. SCVMC also features a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, ABA verified Burn Center, Primary Stroke Center, and a nationally recognized CARF-accredited Rehabilitation Center. Owing to its geographic location and specialty offerings, SCVMC not only serves the County, but also the larger region.
Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together system-wide patient information. Recently, the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognized SCVMC for achieving its highest level of success (Stage 7), based on our continuous innovation and optimization of our inpatient and outpatient EHR.

About the Department of Pediatrics & Division of DBP
Our Department of Pediatrics has a busy 36-bed Pediatric Ward, 12-bed PICU, 40-bed level IV NICU, 170,000 outpatient visits per year, and is a key training site for Stanford medical students and pediatrics residents. Physicians who join our Department of Pediatrics are pleased to find a very collegial work environment, with robust specialty and ancillary support and an integrated electronic health record (Epic).
Our Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) serves children and adolescents 0-18 years of age with diagnostic evaluation, multidisciplinary collaboration, medication management, and ongoing follow-up. The comprehensive DBP clinic is a rotation site for Stanford Pediatrics residents. Physicians who join our Division of DBP are pleased to find a collegial work environment, with robust ancillary support and an integrated electronic health record (Epic).
About the Position
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking who advocates for the underserved population, understanding how social determinants of health affect child development. Candidate is motivated to guide the patient and family through the various medical and community systems related to developmental conditions. DBP Division will be instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Pediatric Diagnostic Specialty Center at Santa Clara County’s Center of Excellence.
Proficiency with the Spanish language is a plus but not required.
