Kingston, New York, Job Summary: To assure a safe, attractive, functional Hospital environment through the performance of all types of routine, emergency or preventative maintenance as assigned. Responsibilities: Completes work orders as assigned by Engineering Supervision. Completes preventative maintenance as assigned by Engineering Supervision; accepting training and instruction from appropriate mechanic. Responds to requests from a dispatcher for emergency calls or special assignments. Works other shifts as needed, included but not limited to coverage of the Power House. Performs wall patching, minor painting, cove base, and ceiling tile replacement. Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs. Displays ownership, initiative, and self-direction in accomplishing assigned duties; orders and maintains an adequate supply of materials to perform assignments. Maintains buildings, grounds, and off-site locations as directed. Completes required paperwork properly, using computer technology enhancements as required; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing.
Completes other related duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: Education: Less than High School; must read and write English Experience: Minimum 1-2 years; hands-on knowledge of basic building trades; experienced in institutional or commercial building maintenance or construction.
