An opportunity has arisen for a Global Trade Operations Analyst. This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Head of Global Trade Operations.

The team – Who are they?

The Global Trade Operations Function is a function within the Siemens Digital Industries Software Global Delivery Services organisation that has been established to ensure all Siemens Business Units and Joint Ventures align with their customs and international trade obligations and to ensure our international supply chains are operating efficiently and effectively from a customs and global trade perspective. This exciting role supports various Business Units in several territories (EMEA, Americas, APAC).

What your role will involve:

You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising logistics movements relating to hardware & Software import & export activities globally.

Supporting the implementation of value opportunities in our international supply chain flows through preferential trade agreements and customs economic procedures.

Support new supply chain enablement in existing and new markets.

Perform site record-keeping assessments and identify areas of non-compliance, make recommendations, and build implementation opportunities.

Supervise Customs Brokers/Freight Forwarders in all regions ensuring operational compliance with legal guidelines and business requirements.

Convey import and export and business information to DISW personnel and departments, proactively manage expectations and objectives; ability to give and receive feedback.

Undertake tariff classification, including acquiring binding rulings from government authorities, for a wide range of products in multiple jurisdictions

Be able to adjust quickly and positively to changes in priorities, schedules, & assignments to meet the needs of the organisation and/or the team with a Problem-Solving Approach.

Strong interpersonal skills!

You will have experience of working in a Trade compliance role, directly working to tackle issues with local customs authorities and International Trade requirements.

Required Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of customs and international trade
  • Third Level qualification in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, Logistics, Tax/Law)
  • Operational and technical knowledge of international supply chains
  • Solid understanding of International/TARIC Harmonised Tariff Schedule.
  • A general understanding of Finance/Tax obligations concerning valuation for customs purposes and Intrastate reporting.
