Position Details:

Summary of Duties:
The Health Justice and Belonging Strategist directly reports to the Assistant Dean for Health Equity and Inclusion in the Office for Diversity, Health Justice, and Belonging and will function as a designated delegate to represent the office and college of medicine as an internal and external ambassador.

The focus of this position includes Strategic Engagement and Planning, Program Design and Implementation, and Organizational Leadership.

The strategist will exercise independence in creating, coordinating and facilitating programs. This role collaborates with with members, departments, offices, and units across the college to to animate the Strategic Diversity Action Plan and enhance the organizational health focused on Diversity, Health Justice, and Belonging.

Using best practices based on current research, statistical, and theory-based evidence, the strategist provides consultative services to meet individual unit and college-wide needs and concerns They will serve as a liaison and/or facilitator for other campus and university schools, offices and units engaged in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

The strategist researches, develops, implements, and manage policies, objectives, projects, programs and budget to assist in accomplishment of established goals.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience coordinating and/or facilitating, education and development program related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with members across organizations.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software including, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight, on occasion.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends on occasion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated intercultural communication and competence working with people from historically underrepresented populations.
  • Demonstrated success in developing, assessing, implementing workshops, curriculum, educational experiences related to diversity, equity, and inclusion using innovation and best practices.

Monthly Salary: Minimum: $4,508.70, Midpoint: $5,635.88, Maximum: $6,199.47; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
