Nashville, Tennessee, Organization: Histopathology – 3rd Shift Job Summary: $10,000. 00 Signing Bonus & Relocation Stipend signing incentives, Employee Referral Bonus Program Position Overview Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking to hire a Histotechnologist (HTL) 2, whom report to the Diagnostic Labs Team Leaders, and whom will have responsibility for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examinations, as well as handling the more specialized histo and immunocyto-chemistry testing within the Dept of Anatomic Pathology under occasional guidance. The HTL 2 maintains adequate quality control data, processes specimens for molecular testing, troubleshoots processes and follows up as needed, and is responsible for high volume workload, including stat requests. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES : DIAGNOSTIC TESTING – (NOVICE): Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE – (NOVICE):- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient. QUALITY ASSURANCE – (NOVICE):- Has provided continuous analysis and evaluation of assignment work processes, constantly striving for improvement in the way tasks and activities are accomplished by questioning their value to the process and contributing creative solutions.
