Danville, Pennsylvania, Job Summary Geisinger’s Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking Interventional Cardiologists to join our teams across Pennsylvania. Geisinger campuses in Danville, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton were recently certified as the first three Comprehensive Heart Attack Centers in the United States through The Joint Commission of Health and the American Heart Association. Job Duties System-wide, Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute has 69 Cardiologists, 12 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 12 Vascular Surgeons as well as 82 Advanced Practitioners. Services are provided at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) in Danville, PA; The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA; Geisinger – Community Medical Center (G-CMC) in Scranton, PA; Geisinger – Gray’s Woods in State College, PA; as well as select community locations encompassing an additional Cardiologists. Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute also offers comprehensive care for our pediatric heart patients. The pediatric and congenital heart team consists of eight Cardiologists and one Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) at GMC. The multidisciplinary team members of the Geisinger Heart and Vascular Institute participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research; molecular, cellular and genomics research at the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Health Research; and trials of new drugs, devices and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies.
