Kingston, New York, Job Summary: To assure a healthy, comfortable Hospital environment through the proper operation, control and maintenance of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Responsibilities: Guides, directs, prioritizes, helps with performance appraisals and coordinates the efforts of the HVAC Shop. Performs daily inspection of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in the Hospital for proper functioning of the equipment. Inspects all of the equipment and performs any required repairs. Ensures adherence to PM schedules andperforms preventative maintenance. Trains other staff members on PM procedures, as required. Ensures all mechanical rooms are inspected daily and monitors computerized HVAC System. Ensures necessary repair work is completed on air conditioning, refrigeration, drinking fountains and ice machines. Responds directly to repair requests or oversees troubleshooting and repair of the equipment. Maintains required records and information for costing-out assignments.
Prepares required reports. Maintains sufficient stock to make routine repairs. Maintains appropriate instruction manuals, blueprints and other similar material. Responds to Hospital emergencies as assigned. Attends in-service or other training to remain curent with equipment technology. Completes required paperwork properly, using computer technology enhancements, as required; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: Education: Less than High School, must read and write English; must have basic mathematics skills Experience: 3-5 years as a HVAC technician in a large-scale HVAC/Chiller Plant environment Training/License: Trained in pneumatic and digital HVAC controls, refrigerant recovery and management.
