Morristown/NJ/USA, Overview Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Lead Sterile Processing Tech for the Central Sterile Supply at Morristown Medical Center to work 6:30AM – 2:30PM, including every other weekend. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Maintains instrument tracking system by updating, changing and deleting data to ensure the SPM system information is continuously accurate. Collects and reports department metrics related to missing instrument, broken instrument, and instrument out for repair. Maintains par levels for back-up instrument and reorders as necessary. Tracks instrument utilization and turn over to identify the need for additional purchases. Assist with maintaining the missing instrument to reduce downtime of trays Submits all purchase requisitions related to instruments, supplies, service and repairs Tracks and communicate all delays or back order issues in a timely manner Maintains and track all orders and send instrument repairs Work with the OR supervisor/leadership to research replacement or new instrument Maintains the department supplies and reorder as needed. Maintains instrument ordering system with the assistance of Business analyst Collaborates with OR director of surgical services to improve systems communication Maintains supplies and stocks the department daily Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external entities, customers, vendors and other parties for the purpose of instrument purchasing coordination and implementation of use. Coordinates weekly tray and instrument maintenance with contracted services. Supports, patient care by monitoring the quality of sterile supplies, decontamination equipment/supplies, per department policy and procedure. Responsible for the overall Sterile Processing workflow during the assigned shift.

Must be able to accomplish job requirements with accuracy and detail, Must be able to stand for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift greater than 25 lbs. Ensure all quality measures are met. Must be able to work in all areas of the Sterile Processing Department and demonstrate proficiency and teamwork. Oversees and coordinates the SPD team for the proper decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage, distribution of all OR and Ancillary Department instrumentation, supplies and patient care equipment and the use of processing equipment in compliance with AHS policy and regulatory standards, guidelines and statutes. Acts as the role model for the SPD Team by communicating and providing constructive feedback, actions, and suggestions to ensure SPD needs are met. Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum Experience: 2-4 years of lead or supervision experience in sterile processing preferred License/Certifications: CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification required.
