FTE: : 1, Shift: : Day, Schedule: Day Position Summary The Senior Litigation Counsel oversees complex litigation matters organization-wide and mentors/ provides supervision of junior attorneys and outside counsel to ensure cases are appropriately resolved. Working collaboratively with attorneys, risk managers and others across the system, you will provide guidance and counseling, both strategic and tactical, to all areas of the organization relating to litigation, and regulatory matters. Responsibilities You will partner with Director Insurance & Claims and Risk Management in the management of MultiCareâs Claims Program You will collaborate with Director Insurance & Claims and Risk Management in the supervision of TPAâs activities and outside counsel in lawsuits You will work collaboratively with Risk Management as needed to support litigation activities You will develops strategies and tactics for complex, high profile matters, including appropriate timelines, and resolution of cases by settlement or trial You will work collaboratively with TPA, Risk Management, MultiCareâs contracted physician groups and outside counsel to negotiate resolution of cases, including contracted groupsâ participation in settlements as appropriate You will provide ongoing support for providers going through litigation as needed You will collaborate with Risk Management on developing workflows that will enable RM to manage claims Requirements Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and admission to the Washington State Bar Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience working on complex litigation from inception to conclusion at both the trial and appellate levels and in both state and federal courts Our Values As a MultiCare employee, we’ll rely on you to reflect our core values of Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, Collaboration and Kindness. As required by various pay transparency laws, MultiCare shares a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The starting pay for this position is $181,355. 00 and the pay scale is $181,355. 00 – $260,978. 00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicantâs years of experience align.
