Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company’s new Direct to Consumer video entertainment service targeted to families. The service consists of long form and short form video built around six key content brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star) with an appealing and easy to use interface accessed across multiple platforms (e.g. televisions, mobile devices).
The Disney+ team is responsible for the roll out and ongoing performance and operations of Disney+ across EMEA, specifically focused on programming strategy, marketing, customer acquisition and retention, partnerships, research, and analytics.
We are looking for a manager to join our Disney + Analytics & Insights EMEA team with a focus on content and merchandising. This will be a crucial role in data driven decision making that will enable us to optimise our content promotion and user engagement strategies. Using your analytical experience and expertise you will be developing a deep knowledge of what best resonates with our customers and using your storytelling expertise when working in collaboration with key business partners to bring those insights to life.
This is a pivotal role within the Disney+ business, which will drive our ability to generate crucial insights on our content success and merchandising effectiveness and will directly feed into business decisions and action plans across the region.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Programming and Marketing to define merchandising goals, develop measurement frameworks, and track performance against key metrics.
- Drive the development and implementation of advanced analytics methodologies and models to understand user behaviour , content performance, and merchandising effectiveness.
- Help d esign experiments , A/B tests , and causal inference frameworks to evaluate the impact of different merchandising strategies and make data-driven recommendations for optimi s ation.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover insights, trends, and patterns related to user engagement, conversion, retention, and other critical metrics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor key metrics and provide regular updates on merchandising performance to stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance and actionable insights to inform merchandising decisions, content placement , recommendation algorithms, personalised experiences, and promotional campaigns.
The Experience We Require From You
- Experience in Product/Merchandising Analytics or similar role.
- Excellent stakeholder management with experience of dealing with senior level stakeholders.
- Ability to explain complex ideas in a simple manner.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, with experience working with large datasets.
- Experience of web analytics, experimental design, A/B testing and causal analysis.
- Proficiency in Python/R for analysis and measurement.
- Strong data visualisation, analysis and reporting skills with experience in Looker/Tableau.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate insight into action.
- Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Collaborative working style with desire to share knowledge that enables the entire team.
- Agility to handle evolving demands.
- Ability to work autonomously, handling multiple projects and hitting key deadlines.
