Washington, D.C., Oversee and manage marketing and communication strategy for all APHA events and event stakeholders including print collateral, email campaigns, social media, etc.  Digital Marketing – Develop and produce marketing strategy for APHA events. Write content for all digital marketing outlets including videos.  Manage and design compelling event promotional campaigns from end-to-end.  Use marketing platforms to develop higher levels of engagement and targeted outreach.  Submit engaging content for Affiliate Affairs E-Newsletter and Inside Public Health.  Print Marketing – Lead event collateral projects with internal and external designers to align with the style and voice of the association.  Develop content and manage creative design of promotional materials including flyers, prospectus, annual meeting promo brochure, exhibitor materials and ads for TNH and AJPH with internal and external designers to align with style and voice of the association.  Lead and manage all steps of Annual Meeting and Policy Action Institute Final Program development, design, and review.  Social Media – Manage the Annual Meeting’s social media presence.  Manage the @APHAAnnualMtg social media account and yearly hashtag(s).  Make posts regularly to promote the meeting and to announce important news and action items.  Schedule posts for all other departments during annual meeting.  Develop and design materials for social media using Photoshop and InDesign to amplify the marketing messages.  Staff liaison on internal marketing committees.  Video Marketing – Create and develop promotional/instructional web videos.  Write scripts and produce videos to improve the attendee experience (such as ‘what to expect’, ‘how to get around’ and mobile app tutorials).  Suggest other web-based videos that might be valuable for either promoting the meeting or improving the attendee experience.  Work with vendors to produce Opening General Session Welcome Video and Social Media Wall content.  Website Development and Management – Design and manage 65+ annual meeting web pages using web best practices.  Work directly with APHA web master to suggest improvements or changes and to ensure that all pages are up to date.  Sponsorship Fulfillment – Lead fulfillment efforts after sponsorships are booked, including procuring logos and developing signage.  Attendee Activations – Conceptualize and manage all event attendee engagement activations including Annual Meeting Wellness Center and onsite lounges.  Staff Liaison to Wellness Committee.  Responsible for recommending, ordering, and distribution of event giveaways.  Mobile App Development – Lead the full implementation and testing of the app. Manage the backend data (including all areas over which we have direct control) and publish as necessary.  Once the app is live, develop and promote the app instructional tools for attendees.  APHA TV – Secure and manage vendor to produce APHA TV program. Act as point of contact for any sponsors who have questions or concerns. Drive the content development of the program with key staff.  Perform other duties as assigned. College degree required, preferably in marketing and/or communications. A minimum of 5 years of event marketing experience. Excellent communications skills. Understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts. Strong project management skills. Proficiency with online database applications and HTML. Proficiency with Microsoft suite, social media platforms and Adobe Creative Cloud. An understanding of design copy and web best practices/guidelines. Experience with a variety of graphics software, including Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
  Must be able to travel to the Annual Meeting (approximately 10 days) and Policy Action Institute (approximately 2 days) with other occasional travel possible; Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings to attend events and other off-site functions when applicable. 
Position is based in downtown DC near several metro stations.  Hybrid work environment.
Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Monday – Friday (daytime).  Number of openings: 1.
