The Surgical Specialty Clinic consists of a total of 13 clinics – Ortho Spine, Ortho Trauma, Ortho Recon, Ortho Foot and Ankle, Ortho Hand, Plastic Hand, Plastic Recon, General Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery, ENT-Head and neck, ENT plastics, and Otology. � The clinic runs � day to whole day clinics Monday thru Friday from 0800-1700. � We are closed on weekends and major holidays. ��� The staff consists of RNs, Clerical, and the Resident Physicians who rotate through our clinic for their outpatient educational experience. � The clinic sees about 13, 000 patients a year.

� We treat a range a medical problems from fractures, minor excisions, evaluations for surgery, etc. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose This position provides support to the clinical care team under the direction of the nursing staff. Duties include support of the outpatient visit through selected tasks according to practice protocols and procedures.   Responsibilities Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms. Performs clinical skills such as point of care testing and EKGs. Maintains accurate and prompt documentation in the medical record. Supports the outpatient encounter with knowledge of patient flow (including scheduling appointments, tests, and lab work), insurance processes, and coordination of resources including durable medical equipment. Assist, as trained, in outpatient procedural visits through duties such as the set-up of instruments, labeling of specimens, and general chaperoning of patient exams. Obtains patient information including vital signs, patient histories and other health information through the medical record and patient screening. Relays important information to the health care team in a timely manner.
