Wilmington, Delaware, The Medical Writer/Editor (Part-time, Casual) will provide technical writing and editing expertise to Nemours professional staff, Enterprise-wide, for scientific research publications, reports, grant applications, posters, and other materials that are an integral part of the investigators’ research efforts and Nemours’ academic endeavors. The Medical Writer/Editor must possess excellent technical editing and writing skills as well as the outstanding project management and communication skills required to work closely with investigators in the publishing of study results and advancement of projects in biomedical research. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Review and edit content and format of biomedical research articles of Nemours authors (scientists, clinicians, and investigators) Enterprise-wide, to ensure highest likelihood of publication. 2. Edit, compile, and submit grant applications, reports, and other research publications Enterprise-wide. 3. Provide expertise in communication of scientific findings through posters presented at local, national, and international scientific meetings on behalf of Nemours. Services include designing, formatting, editing, and producing printed and electronic posters. 4.
Edit, critique, and review figures and other images for research grant applications, scientific protocols, and manuscripts to improve quality of submission and increase likelihood of acceptance/funding. 5. Manage multiple deadline-driven projects continuously, using an established tracking system, with a variety of internal and external constituents (investigators, administrators, publishers). 6. Exhibit excellent editing and writing skills, excellent communication skills, excellent organizational capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain and organize multiple open projects; m aintain proficiency on desktop publishing, publications databases, and editorial management submission systems. 7. Assist Director of Medical Editing Services and Senior Medical Writers/Editors with projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required At least one year of Medical Editor experience
