Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid-Career Flight Controls Electronics Engineer , reporting to the Flight Control Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos, Brazil office.

The Mid-Career Flight Controls Electronics Engineer will join the Flight Control Electronics team to support Electronic and Electrical system modeling, design, integration and testing for both in-production and development programs.

This position will own software/hardware through its life cycle including system trade studies, requirements development, project planning and execution, design and analysis, build, test, qualification, certification, customer delivery and fleet support.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements for software functions and hardware components (including AEH – Airborne Electronic Hardware).
  • Analyze higher level requirements and define impact to design requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action of electronic systems.
  • Solve complex design problems with innovative solutions.
  • Development of hardware qualification and validation/verification tests.
  • Define and execute detailed test procedures for electronic systems using simulation tools and system components.
  • Execute lab and ground/flight testing during the development of new/revised hardware/software.
  • Collaborative partnership with suppliers in idea generation for product reliability and production improvements.
  • Supplier oversight and development assurance activities for hardware (including AEH – Airborne Electronic Hardware) and software developments.
  • Define and improve troubleshooting procedures for new products and fleet support.

This position is hybrid/telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have a degree in Engineering
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA)
  • Experience within electronic systems, hardware and software design

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience with Aerospace Networking Standards such as ARINC664, ARINC825
  • Experience with DO-254 and DO-178 applied to hardware and software developments
  • Experience with electronic systems architecture definition
  • Experience with Model Based Development tools
  • Experience certifying electronic systems designs through FAA or other regulatory agencies
  • Experience with systems design during an airplane development program including Amended Type Certification
