Orlando, Florida, Nemours is seeking a Network Engineer (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Orlando, Florida. The Network Engineer position is an advanced technical role responsible for managing enterprise networks. This position oversees technology platforms including network switching, firewalls, wireless systems, load balancers and security solutions tied to Network architecture. This position requires in-depth technical knowledge of networks to facilitate the planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading of network hardware and software. The Network Engineer provides advanced troubleshooting, participates in an On-Call rotation, along with coordinating hardware and software changes to ensure maintenance and support of Nemours Network environment. Responsibilities span the enterprise datacenters along with the campus environments. This position will define project requirements, estimate project tasks, and provide industry knowledge in performing basic and advanced tasks associated with administering network components. The Network Engineer will provide high-level input to system architecture changes, assist in recommending technology platforms and provide support for various IT projects. Expertise in Arista, Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco, Citrix ADC & Solarwinds is desired. Responsible for LAN and WAN equipment and circuit maintenance.
Perform network design analysis and configuration validation. Assists in developing documentation and training materials. Develop and maintain documentation, which may include as-built drawings, circuit inventory, equipment inventory, configurations, and training materials Serves as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies; assists in troubleshooting and resolution of network production problems. Evaluate utilization, growth requirements, and technology requirements for network systems. Perform project work and assignments as assigned. Maintain and monitor network operations, expansion, and potential abuse through enterprise network intrusion detection system, firewalls, and VPN devices. Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses Analyze and understand client’s IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes to prioritize daily tasks and assignments. Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Information Technology required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of five (5)+ years technology focused experience required. Expertise in Arista, Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco, Citrix ADC & Solarwinds is desired. On-Call rotation required.
