About the Role: Job Summary Serves the organization, patients, and other customers by providing a wide range of computer related technical services. As a member of the Technical Services team, the position is responsible for architecture and the management of critical infrastructure in a wired/wireless environment. Provides infrastructure engineering services including: load balancing (F5/Citrix), Windows/Linux/AIX operating systems; application, system and network security; and Tier 3 data center design and support. Conducts research on emerging technologies and recommends technologies which increase infrastructure flexibility and resiliency. Manages and maintains QoS to enable VoIP and video services across wired and wireless infrastructure. Knowledge managing/maintaining troubleshooting Juniper, Cisco and/or HP/Aruba network equipment including switching/routing, RF engineering, LAN/WAN/MAN management and design. Strong knowledge of the OSI model to troubleshoot issues from physical to application layer. Assists in disaster recovery planning and testing for highly available infrastructure. Mentoring team members to achieve desired outcomes in support of a 24×7 critical patient care environment.
This position assists the Network Services Team Leader in developing long-term plans and designs to facilitate the organization’s technology goals. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: At least one (1) active certification in one of the following required: Microsoft Certification in Windows Server Technologies – MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) required. Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Four (4) year degree in Computer Science, MIS or other computer-related field or equivalent experience in similar IT environments will be considered. Minimum Experience: Minimum seven (7) years of experience providing advanced technical support for server environments required. With at least three (3) of the seven (7) years supporting virtualization technologies and/or building applications in a multi-user environment i. e. (Citrix, VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V). Other: Preferred Job Qualifications Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Juniper JNCIE or Cisco CCIE certification. Preferred Educational Requirements: Preferred Experience: Other: Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert experience with multiple data center interconnect technologies and architecture (such as OTV, EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco ACI, Overlay/Underlay) Extensive knowledge managing/supporting and troubleshooting QoS with VoIP and Video infrastructures including Juniper, Cisco, and/or HP/Aruba wired and wireless Experience managing and configuring F5 and/or Citrix load balancing infrastructure Extensive switching and routing experience in a LAN/WAN/MAN environment including capacity planning and architecture (Such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, PVST, MST, STP, IGMP, PIM, and MSDP).
Vendors can include Juniper, Cisco, Brocade/Foundry and HP/Aruba Extensive knowledge managing and maintaining various security systems including firewalls, site-to-site/remote access VPNs, IDS/IPS, and Network Access Control (NAC) (such as Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Forescout, and/or Fortinet) (experience with PCI and HITRUST optional, but preferred) Adept ability to design/develop architectural solutions to complex problems and document appropriately Adept ability to articulate highly technical designs to non-technical leadership Experience utilizing various packet sniffing technologies in a wired and wireless infrastructure to assist in troubleshooting client/server, routing, and application related issues (Wireshark, Omnipeek, TCPDump) Experience managing large technical projects and mentoring staff to achieve desired outcomes (24×7 and/or healthcare environment optional, but preferred) Strong knowledge of OSI model to support VLANs, Spanning tree, routing, load balancing and others from layers 1 to 7. Must be able to articulate detailed data flow between each layer Demonstrates the ability to learn new technologies and technical skills quickly and effectively Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Architect, document, implement and troubleshoot critical LAN/WAN/MAN infrastructure supporting patient care in a 24×7 environment to maintain a 99. 99 availability metric. Collaborates with internal and external resources to deliver high quality technical service delivery, minimizing risks to technical infrastructure and patient care. Architecture and maintenance of wireless infrastructure including VoIP troubleshooting, client server analysis and RF spectrum analysis. Utilizes network analysis tools including sniffers (such as Wireshark, OmniPeek, TCDump, and Fluke) to troubleshoot client/server, DNS, DHCP, routing and various application issues. Architect and contribute to evolving network processes/procedures to support evolving ITIL and other best practice standards. Documents network architecture at various layers utilizing tools, such as Visio and Netbrain, for disaster recovery and third party audits. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability by assisting the team leader with developing operational and capital costs during budget cycle to technical leadership. Assists in developing disaster recovery processes and procedures.
Architects, documents, implements and maintains network security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS sensors, NAC technologies, and performs security audits utilizing industry standard best practices (such as PCI and HITRUST). Assists technical leadership in the development and creation of architectural decisions and system processes.
