Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior
Director for Inclusion and Strategic Engagement, and an integral part of a dynamic team, the OEI Engagement Coordinator coordinates all
programs and initiatives under the engagement branch of the Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI). This position handles all aspects of
planning and logistics for high-profile OEI events, programs, and initiatives in the interest of enhancing the universities responsiveness
to inclusion needs on campus.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates all programs and initiatives under
the engagement branch of the Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI). - Handles all aspects of planning and logistics for high-profile OEI
events, programs, and initiatives. - Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative co-curricular programs and
initiatives to sustain and/or increase engagement and community building for the UMass community. - Supports the Senior Director
through project management as part of collaborative efforts to move special and cross-college/unit initiatives forward. - Gathers
information and provides appropriately synthesized information and reports. - Communicates with cross-campus parties, developing and
monitoring plans. - Establishes and maintains relationships with both internal and external campus partners.
- Maintains
contemporary knowledge of current trends and participates in related training to stay abreast of new developments in the field and apply new
knowledge as appropriate.
Other Functions
- Performs related duties as assigned or required
to meet Department, Executive Area/Division, and University goals and objectives. - Understands responsibilities with respect to
Title IX, Clery, and other compliance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities,
Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two (2) years of experience
creating and implementing programs. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with
constituents at all levels. - Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to independently prioritize and
work on several projects simultaneously. - Experience serving a large, culturally diverse population.
- Demonstrated
experience and comfort with public speaking. - Experience in developing strategies to increase program creation and engagement.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications,
Licensure)
- Prior experience in engagement, DEI, and/or programming in higher education.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Typical office environment.

Details
- This position will supervise one (1) graduate assistant.
Work
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (37.5 hours per week).
- Required to work some nights and
weekends. - This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where
an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls
within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining
agreement.
