Job Summary
This position will work In the
Office of Diversity and Inclusion with partners across campus (e.g., Faculty Affairs, Human Resources, Faculty Senate) to manage the Faculty
Inclusive Excellence Initiative. The selected candidate will oversee the following programs:

  • Search: Consultation and/or funding
    to expand applicant pools during the search process and to employ search strategies that will attract faculty to AU.
  • Recruitment:
    Funding to complement hiring packages for faculty.
  • Faculty Success and Retention Program: Funding to support current faculy from
    underrepresented groups through professional development and workload reassignment.
  • Visiting Scholars Program: Funding to support
    visiting faculty for short-term (up to four weeks) and long-term (semester) visits to campus.

Responsibilities
The
duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the management of the Visiting Scholars component of the Faculty Recruitment &
    Retention.
  • Initiative, which includes: 1) writing and disseminating the request for applications (RFA), 2) managing application
    submissions and reviews, and 3) coordinating logistics of appointments for selected scholars.
  • Directs the Enhanced Search
    component of the Faculty Inclusive Excellence Initiative that includes recommending best practices and providing consultation/training
    throughout faculty search processes (e.g., search committee training, assistance writing job descriptions, recommendation for position
    posting, assistance developing a list of top scholars in the field, etc.).
  • Strategically manage our current faculty success and
    retention efforts to sustain a comprehensive approach that addresses the developmental needs of scholars and academics across the lifespan
    of the academic pipeline.
  • Assist in the production of scholarship as it relates to inclusive excellence of the faculty workforce
    at AU; track faculty recruitment and retention initiatives and provide quarterly status reports on performance metrics.
  • Represents Faculty Recruitment & Retention Initiative at campus and community events and provides administrative support for daily
    operational efforts.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Educational
Requirements

Masters’ Degree from an accredited university with two years’ experience in program planning and project
development.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with
program/project management, conducting training and/or a background in providing mentorship/career development opportunities for students
and scholars.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, good organizational and planning skills, strong work ethic, ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee
in an exempt level position)

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range
(generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
