Job Overview:

Banquet Servers are event specialists who will accommodate all guests at events that range from private cocktail receptions in a suite to serving BBQ and Beer on the mountain. Anticipating the needs of the guests and responding politely to their requests are musts, as are being knowledgeable about the function and resort.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing events from start to finish with support from the Banquet Captain and Catering & Events Operations Manager.
  • Set up of food and beverage stations and bars, replenishment of items throughout event.
  • Miscellaneous tasks such as putting out linen and place settings, arranging table placement, polishing glassware and utensils, ironing linen, etc.
  • Execute service standards for presentation, delivery of food and beverage, and service based on training.
  • Be present in pre-shift meetings to gain knowledge of event and guest expectations.
  • Assist in break down of event space after the event has ended.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and communicate events, products, and services available at the resort.
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.
  • Process transactions using Square POS system.
  • Check identification of guests to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
  • Any other tasks as requested by Catering Manager, Banquet Captain, Catering & Events Operations Manager, Chefs, etc.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification prior to hire.
  • Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification prior to or within 30 days of hire.
  • Some catering or event experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, guest service, ability to adapt to a changing environment, take constructive criticism and coaching well, and accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.

Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions.
