EOE Position Information: The Patient Account Representative is responsible for complete and accurate data collection associated with the registration and pre-registration of all inpatients and selected outpatients. Ensures that the data collected allows for patient treatment to proceed without undue delays, conforms to WakeMed, state and federal regulations, and results in the most complete reimbursement possible. May function as a registrar collecting data prior to or at the point of entry or as a financial counselor working with the customer during an inpatient or observation admission. Assists in the bed control process by documenting bed requests, calling the clinical administrator to request bed with required information and then once a bed is available, notifies the physician and care team. Responds to demographic information requests from physician offices.

Experience Requirements: 1 Year Accounting/Finance – Third Party Payors Required Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required – And Associate’s Degree Business Administration Or Related Field Preferred Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certified Healthcare Access Associate Preferred Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Weekend Requirements: No Weekends Call Requirements: As needed
